Larissa Kannas Receives Potential for Excellence Scholarship

Larissa Kannas of Menomonie, Wis., received a $1,000 Potential for Excellence Scholarship from the College of Education, Health and Human Sciences at University of Wisconsin-Stout.

Kannas is an undergraduate student majoring in human development and family Studies with a psychology minor.

The scholarship was established to enhance the university's goal of recruiting and retaining high-achieving and diverse students, undergraduate and graduate.

Kannas was selected from more than 100 qualified applicants based on essays, recommendations and scholarly achievement.

"The decisions were not easy," said Renee Chandler, assistant professor in the School of Education. "The seven recipients are clearly committed to their field of study and articulated goals that indicate they will make meaningful contributions to their future professions."
