Student teams from University of Wisconsin-Stout took first and third places in a national student competition as part of the Association of Information Technology Professionals National Collegiate Conference held April 10-13 in Atlanta.
The team of Justin Lisowe took third place. Lisowe, of Elkhart Lake, is majoring in Information technology management .
In the network design competition, which drew 49 teams, the student challenge was to refresh a data center for approximately 2,000 servers.
"I believe we did so well because of how prepared we were. UW-Stout has an amazing ITM program that prepares students for the professional world," Lube said. "By winning this award, it reinforces all we have learned here at UW-Stout and shows we have a competitive edge against other schools."
The conference drew about 500 students.
Holly Yuan, information technology management program director, is the students' adviser.
