Frances Garrity receives Phi Theta Kappa scholarship from UW-Stout

Frances Garrity of Prairie du Chien, Wis., has received a Phi Theta Kappa Transfer Scholarship for the fall 2012 semester for the amount of $1,500. Garrity is transferring from Southwest Wisconsin Technical College and will major in hotel, restaurant and tourism management .
The scholarship is only offered to qualified students transferring directly from two-year colleges.
To be eligible, students must be members of the Phi Theta Kappa honor society at their previous college; have a cumulative GPA of 3.25 and be accepted at UW-Stout. The application deadline was June 1.
UW-Stout, Wisconsin's Polytechnic University, is a special mission university in the UW System. The university has a long-standing reputation of serving business, industry, education and the helping professions through its specialized educational programs.
