Cody Machak Awarded a $5,000 Scholarship to Attend UW-Stout

Cody Machak of Menasha Wis., plans to attend University of Wisconsin-Stout and has been awarded a $5,000 scholarship.

The Stout Scholarship is renewable for up to four years, or a maximum of $20,000 for each student.

Machak was part of a group of 70 high school students who visited UW-Stout for Stout Scholars Day. Students in the group are eligible for one of two types of scholarships, based on ACT score, class rank and grade-point average.

Machak a student at Menasha High School plans to study game design and development.

Other students who visited on Scholars Day were offered a renewable Chancellor's Scholarship of $4,000 their first year and $2,000 their sophomore year.

Machak was interviewed on campus as part of the evaluation process.

"We are pleased to offer these awards to this group of talented students," said Mark Parsons, vice chancellor for University Advancement and Marketing. "As leaders at their high schools, they are prepared to take full advantage of our strong academic programs at UW-Stout."
