Brandee Anthony selected for Minnesota Electronic Theater showcase

2013 Dec 18

Brandee Anthony of Nashotah, Wis., was selected for the annual Minnesota Electronic Theater showcase held Thursday, Dec. 5, in Minneapolis.

Anthony majoring in art created the project “The Last Droid.”

UW-Stout had the most projects chosen out of the three schools represented in the final show. A total of 19 projects, out of 80 student submissions, were picked for the juried show.

UW-Stout’s projects represented work this fall by 18 students in five classes from two programs: entertainment design; and game design and development. Projects included 2D and 3D animation, digital cinema and visual effects.

The classes are taught by Kevin Pontuti, associate professor, and Dave Beck, assistant professor, both from the UW-Stout School of Art and Design.

“Each year the bar for the MET student reel competition is consistently being raised. It's fantastic that UW-Stout continues to push the boundaries and raise that bar,” Pontuti said.

The Minnesota Electronic Theater brings together the region’s computer graphics community and serves as the premiere showcase for locally produced, award-winning animation.

“The students involved ranged from intermediate to advanced students, focusing on both individual and collaborative animation projects,” Pontuti said.
